Indians have Forsaken Dharma
The root of all ills, that India is facing lies with its people. The Indians have forsaken Dharma. In the past, when Alexander had invaded, the Dharma had declined and people were mutually fighting, kings were misusing powers etc. Chanakya had re-established Dharma, the way Krishna had before. Later, Shankaracharya came and re-established Dharma in social and religious plane. The same was carried by Vivekananda too.
Yet, because the people are continuously abandoning their dharma and are perfoming all kinds of wrong activity, the Karma of India is so bad that,we have been suffering for last 1200 years. And I feel there is more to come.
An Anecdote- When Islamic invaders were invading South, it was Vijayanagara Empire that prevented them from doing so for 300 years. It so happened, that Sage Vidyaranya did very difficult Tapas so that Hindu rule could be established for 3000 years. But, even after very severe tapas,as a fruit of his efforts, the divine mother granted him a boon of Hindu empire for only 300 years and hence Vijayanagara empire lasted only 300 years.
The point is, the collective Karma of country which has abondoned Dharma is pretty bad. So, the rectification can only happen, when one by one everyone returns back to Dharma. Today people do not follow the very simple Dharmic tenets like truth, honesty, non-stealing, non-violence etc. Then, what to speak of enormous corruptions, crimes, rapes etc that are happening.
For kidnapping Sita, Ravana was killed, for forcing his brother’s wife Vali was killed, for sexually assaulting Draupadi,Mahabharat happened. From this,we can gather the severity of a single incident of sexual assault on women. And today, in India everywhere rapes, human trafficking, assault etc are happening. So many innocent women and children are being tortured. Just imagine the Karmic burden of all those rapes and assaults put together. Its HUGE, very HUGE.
Hence, it will take a huge effort on a mass scale to set things right. Things that have been done over many centuries cannot be undone within months. But, the rectification should start somewhere. Every person should at least do his part, by studying one’s own scriptures and implementing the tenets of Dharma in his/her own life to the best of his/her ability.
