Random Musings- Part 17- The State of Jnana
The action by its very nature is due to Ignorance. An activity assumes a subject, object and the action. But, a Jnani who has realized Brahman as being beyond all activity, beyond all mutability, eternal, birth-less etc How can such a Jnani perceive Birth, death and such mutations? How can such person perceive the duality subject and object? How will such a person be subjected to or bounded by Karma?
Brahman is beyond all Limitations. He is birth-less and eternal. And this whole Universe is manifested by him only as an appearance or magic. Just as a magician creates a magic elephant, Brahman manifests this Universe by his power of Maya. Hence, the whole Universe with all its duality and activity is also product of Maya or Avidya/Ignorance. A person who attains Jnana, in him all Ignorance are destroyed. All Karmas that used to bind him are destroyed too. Hence, he is no longer subjected to Karma. Hence, a Jnani has no Karma. When the duality of subject and object is nullified, What activity or what actor remains?
If it be asked, how come a Jnani-Jivanmukta remains in body, the body remains only till the cessation of Prarabda Karmas that had resulted in this body.
